The short version

  • There’s no sign-up. Your pets’ profiles, health records, photos, schedules, weights, foods, meals, expenses and chats with Sam are stored on your phone.
  • Data leaves your phone only for features that need it: Sam’s chat and Pro’s photo checks (if you use them), Find a Vet, Family Sharing (if you start or join a family), backups to your own iCloud or Google Drive (if you turn them on), purchases, crash reports, and the feedback email you choose to send.
  • With Family Sharing, the pets you choose to share, and their records, are kept on our server so your family’s phones can stay in step. Only your family can read them, and they’re removed when you stop sharing, leave or delete the family (section 2).
  • When you ask Sam a question, the pet’s record goes with it, as plain lines, so the answer fits your pet (section 3). The pet’s name is part of that; nothing about you is.
  • Receipts, vaccination cards and food labels are read on your phone. Pro’s photo checks are read on our server and not kept. Photos you add to a record stay on your phone.
  • Walks use your phone’s, or your Apple Watch’s, location and step counter only while you walk. The route, the distance and your steps stay on your phone and watch: they aren’t shared with a family and never sent to us (section 8). With Pro, Sam is told a summary of recent walks, never the route (section 3).
  • No ads and no usage analytics, and we never sell personal information. Crash reports carry the error and the device, not what you entered (section 9).

Who we are

The Pawfetti mobile app (“Pawfetti,” “the app”) is developed and published by Clifford Francisco, doing business as Fordytech Solutions, based in Naga City, Camarines Sur, Philippines (“we,” “us”). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Contact us at support@fordytechsolutions.com.

This policy covers the Pawfetti app on Android and iPhone (iOS), and this website. It does not cover the websites or services of other companies that the app links to, such as a clinic’s website or Google Maps.

1. Information stored on your device

Everything you enter in Pawfetti is saved in a database on your phone, including:

  • Your pets’ profiles: name, species, breed, birthday, sex, parents, photo and background photo
  • Health records and schedules: vaccinations, deworming, tick and flea treatments, vet visits, medicines, dental, grooming and allergies, with their dates, clinic, cost, notes and photos
  • Assessments from Sam that you chose to keep, always labelled as Sam’s
  • Weight entries, foods, feeding preferences and logged meals
  • Walks: when each started and ended, its time and distance, your steps, any notes you wrote, the points of its route, and your walking goals
  • Expenses, with the receipt photo if you added one, and the budgets you set
  • Your conversations with Sam
  • Care guide checklists and saved topics
  • Your settings, such as language, appearance and reminders

We cannot see this information unless you send part of it to Sam or a photo check (sections 3 and 4), or share a pet with your family (section 2). Deleting the app deletes it from your phone. Your phone’s own backup (iCloud or Google) may include the app’s data under Apple’s or Google’s privacy policy, if you have it switched on.

Pawfetti’s backups. If you turn on automatic backups (free) or, with Pro, export a backup file, Pawfetti saves a copy of this database, with your photos and some settings (language, appearance, region, reminders, budgets and feeding preferences). Automatic backups go to your own cloud storage: Pawfetti’s folder in your iCloud on iPhone, under Apple’s privacy policy, or the hidden app data folder of your Google Drive on Android, under Google’s. On Android you sign in with Google for this; Pawfetti asks only for its own app data folder, can’t see your other Drive files, and shows the account’s email address in Settings. The newest three backups are kept. A backup file goes wherever you choose to save or send it. Backups never pass through our server, and we can’t read them.

So the app can apply Sam’s daily chat allowance without an account, it also creates a random ID for your installation and keeps it on your phone. It doesn’t identify you, and it is reset if you delete the app.

2. No sign-up, and Family Sharing

Pawfetti has no sign-up. You don’t give us your name, email address, phone number or password to use the app.

Family Sharing is optional. When you start or join a family, the app creates an anonymous identity for you with Supabase, the database service we use: a random user ID and the tokens that keep it signed in, stored on your phone (on iPhone, also in its Keychain, so the identity survives reinstalling Pawfetti). Our server then keeps:

  • The family: its name, its members with the display name each one chose (optional) and their role, and when they joined
  • The pets you share, as you entered them: the profile, health records and schedules, weights, foods and meals, illnesses with their daily updates and medicine doses, and the pet’s expenses, each with when it was last changed and by which member. The pet’s profile photo is kept in a private storage folder only your family can read. Photos of records and receipts, background photos, chats with Sam, budgets and settings are not shared
  • Invites: only a fingerprint of each QR code (it stops working after 10 minutes), and the times of recent attempts to join, to stop guessing
  • If you protect your family with an email: that email and your password, which Supabase stores hashed. We use the email only to sign you back in
  • If you allow notifications: your phone’s push token, so we can tell you when a pet is shared with you or your family changes. Notifications are delivered through Expo’s push service and Apple’s or Google’s

The database lets only members of a family read that family’s data; we look at it only to fix a problem you report to us or where the law requires. Starting a family, inviting, sharing a pet and removing, leaving or deleting go through our server (section 6) with your sign-in token, so it can confirm who you are and, where needed, that the family’s owner has Pro.

When you stop sharing a pet, its records are deleted from our server, and the other phones remove their copies. When you leave or are removed, you leave the family and the pets you shared leave with you; when the owner deletes the family, all of it is deleted. A deleted record leaves only a marker with no content, so the other phones know to remove it. Your own pets always stay on your phone. Settings → Family Sharing → Delete Family Sharing data deletes your identity and everything tied to it.

3. Sam, the AI pet-care assistant

When you send a message to Sam, the app sends the following to our server, which forwards it to our AI service provider, Google (the Gemini API), to write the answer:

  • Your message, the most recent messages of the conversation, and a short summary of the older ones that the server wrote earlier and the app kept
  • The pet you’re asking about, as plain lines read from the phone: name, species, breed, sex, age, latest weight, allergies, medicines, and the health record (what was done and when, what’s due, and each vaccine’s last and next date), plus the names of your other pets
  • If you opened Sam from a record, an expense, a food, a report or a care guide topic: that item’s lines, the report’s figures (calculated on the phone), or the topic’s title
  • If you opened Sam from a health photo: what the scan saw in it (section 4), not the photo
  • With Pro, the pet’s walking record as plain lines: the last 7 and 28 days’ totals, the last five walks (the date, minutes, distance, average speed, the energy estimate and your own step count) and the walking goal. Never the route, a place or the time of day; on Free, none of it is sent
  • Today’s date, your app language, the random installation ID, whether demo data is on, and whether you have Pro, with the purchase ID RevenueCat uses for it (section 7)

Nothing about you as a person is sent: no name, email, contacts, location or photos. The conversation and its summary are stored on your phone only; the server keeps none of it after the answer is sent. When Sam cites a web page, the server opens that link to check it still exists before the answer reaches you.

4. The scanner and Pro’s photo checks

Receipts, vaccination cards and vet booklets, and food labels are read on your phone by its own text recognition (Apple’s Vision on iPhone, Google’s ML Kit on Android). Those photos aren’t sent to us.

Pro’s photo checks, a medicine or vaccine label and a photo of your pet, send a reduced copy of the photo (about 1024 pixels wide), your app language, the random installation ID, and whether you have Pro with the purchase ID RevenueCat uses for it to our server. The server confirms with RevenueCat that you have Pro, then sends the photo to Google’s Gemini API to read it. The photo is not stored on our server. What’s read is shown to you to check; nothing is saved to your record until you confirm it.

Naming a breed from a photo (also Pro) works the same way with a photo of your pet. The breed’s description then comes from the breed’s English Wikipedia article, fetched through our server by breed name only (never with the photo) and kept on your phone for 90 days.

5. Find a Vet and pet places

Find a Vet shows a Google map and searches places through Google’s Places service. The map is drawn by Google Maps on your phone, which receives your IP address and device information under Google’s privacy policy. When you search, the app sends the point to search around (the place you typed, or your location if you tapped Use my location), how far, the kind of place, and a name if you typed one, to our server, which asks Google and returns the results. Your location is asked for only when you tap the button, isn’t saved, and isn’t sent anywhere else. If Google’s service is unavailable, the app asks OpenStreetMap’s public servers directly instead, which receive the same search and your IP address under their privacy policy. Directions open Google Maps or Apple Maps, which then apply their own policies.

6. How our server handles requests

Sam, scan, breed, place and Family Sharing requests go to our server, hosted by Expo (EAS Hosting) on Cloudflare’s network, which, like any web service, sees your IP address while handling the request. To apply the daily chat allowance (3 new chats in 24 hours on Free, a fair-use allowance with Pro; photo checks have a separate ceiling), the server keeps a short record of each new conversation per installation ID, account ID and purchase ID (or, if there is none, per IP address): a random conversation ID, when it started, whether it was Free or Pro, how many answers it had and the AI usage it took, never the messages or answers, for up to 120 days. For a request that needs Pro, it asks RevenueCat whether the purchase ID has Pro and remembers the answer in memory for up to ten minutes. When a request to Google or a Family Sharing step fails, the server logs the error code and the route or step, but nothing you sent and no IP address. When it sends a notification, it logs how many were accepted and why any failed, never the push token or the text.

Google processes what we send it only to provide the Gemini and Maps services to us, under its terms for API customers. Please don’t put sensitive personal information, such as ID or bank numbers, in your messages. Sam can make mistakes; see our Terms of Use.

7. Purchases

Pawfetti Pro is sold through Google Play on Android and the Apple App Store on iPhone. Google or Apple handles payment, and we never receive your card details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to check which plan you have and to restore purchases. It receives a random purchase ID, your purchase and subscription history, and basic device information such as the platform, app version and store country. Once you start or join a family, that purchase ID becomes your Family Sharing user ID, so your Pro follows your family identity. Our server also asks RevenueCat whether a purchase ID has Pro, before Pro’s photo checks, Sam’s larger daily allowance and the Family Sharing steps that need Pro.

8. Camera, photos, location, motion, walks and the Apple Watch

The camera is used only when you scan or take a photo for a pet or a record; the photo library only when you choose a photo or scan a family’s QR; location when you tap Use my location in Find a Vet and while a walk is recording. Reminders are scheduled on your phone as local notifications. Push notifications are used only for Family Sharing: in a family, with notifications allowed, the phone’s push token is sent to our server (section 2); without Family Sharing, no notification token leaves your phone. You can change each permission in your phone’s Settings at any time.

Walks. When you start a walk, Pawfetti asks to use your location while you use the app, and on iPhone keeps recording with the screen locked; on Android it shows a notification while a walk is running. Location is used only to measure the walk’s distance and draw its route, stops when you end the walk, and is never sent to us, to a family you’re in or to anyone else. A walk’s time, distance, route and notes are kept on your phone, and in a backup if you make one (section 1); they’re not part of Family Sharing. Your own steps come from your phone’s step counter (Motion & Fitness, asked once when a walk starts) and are stored with the walk as yours, never your pet’s. The route is drawn on a Google map by the app, and Google Maps, as in section 5, receives your IP address, device information and the area you view; the route itself isn’t uploaded. On iPhone, a Live Activity shows the walk’s timer on the Lock Screen; it is drawn from data on your phone. Energy estimates and the notes Sam writes after a walk are worked out on your phone.

Apple Watch. The Pawfetti watch app records a walk with the watch’s own location and step counter, keeps it on the watch, and passes it to your iPhone over the connection between your own watch and phone, not through our server. It never reads Health. Only if you switch on Save walks to Health on the watch, a finished walk is saved to Health as a walking workout with its route, under Apple’s privacy policy; you can switch it off or delete the workout in Health at any time. The watch’s summary, with the energy estimate and your goal’s progress, is worked out on your iPhone from your walks and the pet’s weight and sent to the watch.

9. Crash reports, and no analytics

To find and fix bugs, the App Store and Google Play versions of Pawfetti send crash and error reports to Sentry, an error monitoring service: the error and where in the app it happened, the screen, the app and system version, the device model and memory, a random ID for the installation, and the app’s recent steps before the error (screens opened, the addresses of requests to our server and Supabase, never their contents). Reporting is set not to collect personal information: no names, email or contacts, no console logs, and taps are recorded without their labels, which could hold a pet’s name. Reports never include what you typed or photographed. Sentry receives your IP address with each report, as any web service does. Pawfetti has no usage analytics.

10. Feedback and support email

Send feedback opens your phone’s mail app with a message already filled in: the kind of feedback, your app version, operating system and device model. No pet records, photos or chats are included, and nothing is sent until you send it from your mail app. We use your email only to reply and to fix the problem.

11. Why we use your information

We use information to provide the features you ask for (performing our contract with you), and to keep Pawfetti secure and working (our legitimate interests). We use the camera, photos and location only with your permission. We may also use information where the law requires it.

The companies that help us run Pawfetti process data only to provide their service to us. We do not sell or rent personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and Pawfetti has no ads.

12. How long we keep it

  • On-device data: until you delete it or delete the app. A walk and its route: until you delete the walk or the pet, or the app
  • Family Sharing: until you stop sharing the pet, leave or are removed, the family is deleted, or you delete your Family Sharing data. An anonymous identity that’s in no family and hasn’t been used for 30 days may be deleted
  • Crash reports: as long as Sentry keeps them for our plan, usually 90 days
  • Backups: in your own iCloud or Google Drive, or wherever you saved the file, until you delete them
  • Sam messages and scan photos: not stored on our server after the answer is sent
  • Sam chat allowance records (no message text): up to 120 days, to apply the daily allowance and monitor AI cost
  • Purchase records: as long as needed for your subscription and our tax and accounting obligations
  • Support emails: as long as needed to help you

13. Your choices and rights

  • Delete your data: delete a pet, a record or an expense in the app, or delete the app to remove everything on your phone. Delete what Family Sharing keeps on our server in Settings → Family Sharing → Delete Family Sharing data. Delete backups in your iPhone’s iCloud storage settings, or in Google Drive under Settings → Manage apps → Pawfetti → Delete hidden app data.
  • Subscriptions: deleting the app doesn’t cancel a subscription. On Android, cancel it in the Google Play Store app → your profile picture → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. On iPhone, cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
  • Permissions: turn the camera, photos, location, Motion & Fitness, Health or notifications on or off in your phone’s or watch’s Settings.
  • Requests: email support@fordytechsolutions.com to ask what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it. We’ll reply within 30 days. Unless you use Family Sharing, there is no account, and we hold very little that can be linked to you.

Depending on where you live, including under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012, the EU and UK GDPR, and California law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port your information, and to object to or restrict some uses. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. In the Philippines, that is the National Privacy Commission (privacy.gov.ph). We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

14. Security

Data sent between the app, our server and our providers is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, so use a passcode on your phone and keep its backup on.

15. International transfers

We are based in the Philippines, and our providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses.

16. Children

Pawfetti is a pet care app for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

17. Changes to this policy

We’ll update this policy when the app or our providers change, and revise the effective date above. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know in the app or on this page before it takes effect.
